Durham Classic Car Show
On The DayBank Holiday Monday, 30th August
What’s on where and when!
Durham Classic Car Show is a ‘free to attend’ event. You don’t need tickets … you’re free to walk around the exhibits, take photographs, chat to owners and enjoy the whole day – and the heart of Durham. All we ask is that you do so safely.
Classic Cars
We have more than 100 classic cars exhibiting at Durham Classic Car Show – on Palace Green, in the Market Place, in Millennium Place (outside the Gala Theatre) and on Framwellgate Bridge. Please note, this year there will be no cars on Elvet Bridge.
Come view a Lancia Integrale Evo Marque – a famous rally car, and winner of 6 consecutive World Rally Championships from 1987 to 1993. This particular car was originally bought in Whitley Bay, has been exported to Japan and then repatriated to the UK. It has been beautifully restored and upgraded, and now runs to a power output level of 333 bhp.
See the Lancia (pictured above) in the Market Place.
Some of the treats lined up on Palace Green include a Delorean, a Ford Zodiac and a Ford Consul.
Head to Framwellgate Bridge to see a selection of Fords.
The Market Place will be hosting a range of ‘hot hatches’ from the 80s and 90s.
Millennium Place outside the Gala Theatre will have a range of BMWs.
Palace Green will be an exhibition of cars from all eras and 22 different makers … from 1950s onwards, including cars from the Mercedes Benz Club.
And it’s not just cars … there’s loads of other entertainment so that the whole family has a great time.
In the Market Place and Millennium Place there will be live music.
In the Market Place there will also be a Street Food Market, so you can choose from a range of takeaway food and drinks while you’re visiting.
Free activities for children include free Face Painting in the Market Place, a chance to meet the mini beasts of BugsnStuff.com in the entrance to the Market Hall, and a free Treasure Trail around the Market Place too. The Market Hall will also be open so you can pop in and shop.
